My thoughts of Mom is she's in heaven and God has her looking after all the babies before they come to earth!

Momma’s Boy a.k.a. Ode to Evelyn She woke up early, she stayed up late, and she addressed my needs because I just wouldn’t wait She cared more about me than she did herself For me, her entire life she put upon a shelf. I was her reason, I was her pride and joy, that’s why I’m proud to be a momma’s boy Keep things simple she would always say…..and never forget God’s way Be true to yourself and your fellow man, and if someone is in need do all that you can. She would say honesty, integrity and love is what to live by If you do that, you’ll be one swell guy. On my birthday I always knew she was glad I was born, and she was always ready with repairs if my clothes or body were torn. She gave me a foundation deep in my heart and soul So in troubled times I could maintain control. It’s a foundation that no one can destroy, that’s why I’m proud to be a momma’s boy. She loved the simple things in life, which could make some folks jealous Like crafts, needlepoint and watching soap operas with Dorothy Ellis. E&B needle crafts was not just a business….. per se But a way to spread joy to others each day. She managed the household with six kids, which was never mellow And she added color to each day by answering the phone…”yellow” She loved her family and has one wonderful sister, don’t try to come between them, or you’ll be in trouble mister!! They loved doing things together like gathering shells at the beach, or just talking and lying back, heck………they both even married a guy named Jack. She loved her kids, grand kids and great grandkids as well, and many stories about each of us she would surely tell. She truly enjoyed when we got together to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or whatever She would let you know when you haven’t been in touch for a while, like reminding you that she is your mother, in her own special style. She had a list of many friends, but on that list the “Golden Girls” were at the top. They love each other dearly shared church and church socials but their favorite was Sundays at IHOP. She woke up early, she stayed up late and She addressed my needs because I just wouldn’t wait She cared more about me than she did herself For me, her entire life she put upon a shelf. I was her reason, I was her pride and joy, that’s why I’m proud to be a momma’s boy
