Obituary for Evelyn Brown Martin

Evelyn Brown  Martin
Evelyn Brown Martin, 86, of Nokesville, passed away October 22, 2016, at the Novant Health – UVA Haymarket Medical Center, Haymarket, Virginia.

Born April 27, 1930, in Danville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Junius and Francis Grissom Brown. Evelyn was married to Dudley J. Martin, Jr. for over 27 years.

Ms. Martin was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a homemaker until later in life when she ran her own arts and craft business, E&B Crafts. She also was a very dedicated member of the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manassas, having served in many different capacities within the church.

Survivors include her six children, Jacklyn M. Colas and her husband Greg; Dudley J. Martin, III (D.J.) and his wife Chris; Michael C. Martin and his wife Patty; Patrick T. Martin and his wife Kathy; John D. Martin and his wife Carole; Joseph L. Martin and his wife Kathy; 17 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8712 Plantation Lane, Manassas. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary with Rev. Jeffrey Wilson officiating.

Interment will follow in Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.

Flowers will be gratefully accepted by the family; memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, In Memory of Evelyn Brown Martin, 8712 Plantation Lane, Manassas, Virginia 20110.
