The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Matthew Groover can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

A Day at Work with Matt

Matt will forever be an iconic figure in my life.  He would often refer to me as, "The Rev"; I assume because I could talk as much as he could.  Between his jokes and my geopolitical theories, we could easily hold a 30-45 minute conversation in between taskers and job stuff.  Matt's jokes were not typical in nature.  They were humorous short-stories in which he would often include the listerner within the punch-line.  I would always say, "Matt, you need to take that show on the road!"  Although we only had a work relationship, I felt that I could share some of my deepest experiences and guarded opinions with Matt.  If I was having a lack-luster day, he was instrumental in shaping my perspective by sharing one of his personal experiences; sometimes in the form of a joke (of course).  Matt's presence and demeanor had a profound effect on me and our co-workers alike.  He would always compliment the appearance of his co-workers.  He would say, "Rev, nice hair cut!" or "Lookin' good Rev, the gym is paying off!"  I will miss Matt's animated and mentoring characteristics; however, I'm sure he will find a way to touch us with his wonderful and humerous spirit!!! Until we meet again...
