Ed and I were freshman assigned to Company C our first year at Va Tech 1953-54 .He was very smart and was independent for his age.
I came across a photo I had taken of Ed our first year as Rats ,as we were known for our first year. This photo was mailed to Ed about 2005.After all these years I had not seen Ed after our first year as I dropped out the end of my second year and returned to Tech in the fall of 1957.But,Ed did call me as he seemed pleased to receive the personal photograph taken of him from our first year.We had a great time talking after all these years.Ed told me of his very successful careers serving his country and flying for one of the major airlines.
On April 16,2007 I was watching TV when the tragic news of the shootings at Va. Tech appeared on the screen.I called Ed to see if he had heard the news. He said he had heard about it.
Ed, Peggy and family visited Tech after this tragedy and Peggy was kind enough to e-mail me photos taken of the memorials placed on permanent display.
Most sincerely,
Sid Boyette
