Paul and Janet were married in October 1982, and served together at Andrews AFB in Camp Springs Maryland where their first son, Eric, was born in 1985. Their second son, Ives, was born in 1987 at Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, NC, where Paul completed his tour of duty. Paul and his family moved to Burke, VA in 1989 where he opened a private medical practice, Virginia Family Health. Two sons, Jay and Daniel were born in 1990 and 1995, respectively.

Paul served in professional organizations, the American Osteopathic Association, and was a sports medicine doctor for George Mason University athletics and activities. His patients and staff at VFH became an extended family. Paul loved music and singing. A member of the Fairfax Choral Society since 2008, he served as Board President for the last three years. Paul was a member of the United Methodist Church, actively participating wherever Janet was appointed to minister. He played guitar and served with the National Capital Area Emmaus.

Paul was a biologist at heart, planting and cultivating trees and bushes. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, teaching his nieces and nephew how to hook a worm. He was also known as a good teller of “fish stories”. Paul had a quick wit which put everyone around him at ease. Paul frequently remarked that he was content, had a blessed life and had been able to do many interesting things, most recently acquiring medical equipment for establishing a health clinic in Honduras through Art for Humanity.
