Obituary for Gail DeVoe Witt (DeVoe)

Gail DeVoe Will, 58, of Haymarket, VA, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 after her fight with cancer.

Born June 26, 1958, she was the daughter of Lee Robert and Barbara Eleanor DeVoe.

Gail was a 1976 graduate of Lackey High School, Charles County, MD. She and Arthur Witt have been together since May 1981. Gail raised 2 children, and two dogs along with many other pets along the way. She started her government career at Naval Ordnance Station Indian Head, MD and retired from DISA. Gail enjoyed volunteering at her children’s schools and loved the adventure of motorcycles, hiking, beach, and travel. She also became a Longaberger Consultant and organized many charity fundraisers.

In retirement, Gail and Arthur were able to enjoy living in Haymarket with their children and playing golf.

Gail was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mabel Goodrich of Brunswick, MD.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Arthur Witt; her children, Jennifer Leigh Witt and Brian Witt; her parents, Lee Robert and Barbara Eleanor DeVoe; her sister, Cheryl Lee Deskins (Mark); nephews, Joshua (Anna), and Matthew; aunts and uncles, Richard and Patricia Goodrich, Donna and Wayne Hawes and Louise and Raymond Danner as well as numerous cousins.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of life will be planned at a future time.
