Martin passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his home in Catharpin, VA Thursday, August 4, 2016. He was 74 years old and was born to George and Emma Dodd on July 22, 1942.
He graduated with the class of 1960 from Fairfax High School. He married his high school sweetheart Parthenia D. Dodd on June 7, 1961 and have enjoyed 55 years together loving each other.
Martin leaves behind his wife, sons and daughter: Martin L. Dodd, Tammy L. Gaouette, Michael J. Dodd, his children's spouses: Shannon Dodd, Homer Gaouette and grandchildren: Joseph Gaouette, Caitlyn Dodd, Christopher Dodd, Katie Gaouette, Lexi Gaouette, Riley Dodd and Michael Dodd.
He was preceded in death by his parents; George and Emma Dodd, his in-laws: Clyde Comer and Francis Comer.
Martin was a kind and gentle soul that was loved by all. He loved to fish and to be outdoors. He was a man of many trades, whether it was fixing the car, finishing a basement, electrical, plumbing....he always made sure the job was done right the first time! He will be greatly missed by so many with his beautiful smile.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, August 8, 2016, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA. A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, August 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Hwy, Manassas, Virginia.
