Obituary for Traci Elaine Marquardt

Traci Elaine Marquardt
Traci Elaine Marquardt, 46, of Manassas VA passed away May 21, 2016 peacefully after a brief unexpected battle with cancer.

Traci is survived by her mother, Margaret L. (Peggy) Bowling of Waldorf MD; her loving husband and best friend, Christian A. Marquardt; and the joys of her life, her two daughters, Lindsay and Hannah Marquardt; sisters: Donna (Larry) Spitzer of Pawleys Island SC, Julie (Wade) Stallsmith of Charlotte Hall MD, Sherry Rahm of Mechanicsville MD, Cindy (Stephen) Kanode of Herndon VA and Bobbie (William) Simpson of White Plains MD; mother in law, Barbara Marquardt of Danbury CT; brother in law, Stefan Marquardt of Norwalk CT; nieces and nephews: Candace, Zac, Chloe, Rachel, Kara, Colton, Adam, Kyle, Caden; and many friends.

Traci was born in LaPlata MD and grew up in Charles County MD. She moved to Northern Virginia after school and continued her education while working many years at Northwestern Mutual in McLean VA.

Traci was known for her witty, bright, generous, playful personality, and expressive eyes and facial expressions that showed like her caring heart that she “wore on her sleeve”. She loved to travel extensively with her husband and girls all over Europe; was an avid reader, cook and foodie; loved antique and thrift store ventures with her girls; was a supportive and enthusiastic “soccer/sport mom” and Girl Scout Leader, and was very proud of her daughters and their accomplishments. She loved spending time on the water in the Northern Neck of VA, and that included bringing her beloved furry friends back and forth with them. She will be sorely missed by family and friends.

A private funeral is scheduled for May 27, 2016 in Manassas VA. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date and all family and friends welcomed to attend.
