Gordon Robert  Plasse
Gordon Robert "Gordy" Plasse, 80, of Manassas, passed away January 2, 2016 at the Novant Health – Prince William Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born January 1, 1936 in Webster, MA, he was the son of late Henry and Martha Hognig Plasse. On January 1, 1958, he married the former Anne Nielson, who survives.

Gordy was a resident of Highland Falls, NY for over 58 years. While a resident, he was a member and participated in the Highland Ponytail League both as a coach and umpire; he was also a member of the Sarah Wells Girl Scout Council and was a groundskeeper at the West Point Military Academy for over 47 years.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Anne Plasse of Manassas; one daughter, Tova Anne Halsall and her husband Robert of Manassas; one sister, Leatrice Belanger and her husband Donald of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Matthew Halsall of Linden; Jeremy Halsall of Manassas; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road Manassas. A celebration of Gordon’s life will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Donahue officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home community room.

Inurnment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may take the form of a donation in Gordy's name to the Manassas Volunteer Fire Company, 9322 Centreville Road, Manassas, VA 20110; Greater Manassas Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
