Obituary for Tyler Drew Abt

Tyler Drew  Abt
Tyler Drew Abt, 23, of Manassas, passed away April 23, 2015.

Born October 3, 1991, in Falls Church, VA, he was the son of Jeffrey and Lisa Corns Abt.

Tyler was a 2010 graduate of Osbourn High School, and was a recent graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VA Tech) with a Bachelor’s degree in History. He also was a member of the university’s paintball team for two years, and worked as a summer intern in Washington, D.C. as a communication specialist and educator for Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, a non-profit organization created to honor and preserve the legacy of service and educate all generations about the impact of the Vietnam War.

Surviving besides his loving parents, Jeffrey and Lisa Abt of Manassas, are one brother, Spencer Abt also of Manassas; maternal grandparents, Carol and John Corns of Churchville; paternal grandparents, Bill and Mary Lou Abt of Valencia, PA; one aunt, Marci Balocik and her husband George of Cranberry Township, PA; two uncles, Mark Abt and his wife Leslie of Gibsonia, PA; Mike Corns and his wife Becky of Churchville; and many loving cousins and friends.

A celebration of Tyler’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 9750 Wellington Road, Manassas, with The Rev. Rudy Tucker, Jr. officiating. A reception for the family will immediately follow in the church narthex.

Interment will be private and take place at a later date.
