Roger M. Cassell, passed away at the Inova Fairfax Hospital, Fairfax, VA on April 12, 2015.

On May 6, 1948 Roger was born in Marion, VA to Lola & Richard Cassell . His family moved to Manassas and he was a graduate of Osbourne City High School.

Roger was a 2 time Vietnam Army vet for the 101st Airborne. He married his wife Ginny in 1974 and had 3 children and 6 grandchildren.

He was active in various sporting activities throughout his life with the most notable being a coach for MPYLL Tee Ball League for his grandchildren, coach for PW Coed Softball Team “Wired Up” for his kids, and he was a longtime member of the Friday Night Mixed league at Bowl America for the last 40+ years. He was a diehard Washington Redskins fan regardless if they were winning or losing.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all and always the life of the party. Roger was famous for his act of kindness to everyone but most notable was his smile which he always had on his face.
Roger is survived by his wife of 40 years, Virginia “Ginny” Cassell, his children Julie Sirotta, her spouse Andy Sirotta; Wendy Cassell; Roger “Andy” Cassell, and his grandchildren Beth Sirotta; Roger “Mickey” Glines; Jacob Sirotta; Amanda Glines; Kacie Bratcher & CJ Bratcher; 3 brothers ;2 sisters and countless nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Sunday April 19, 2015 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm in the Baker-Post Funeral Home, 10001 Nokesville Rd. Manassas, VA 20110. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday April 21, 2015 at 11:00 in Baker-Post Chapel with Pastor Chris Banks officiating.

Interment with be in Quantico National Cemetery.
