Obituary for Daniel Boyd Fink

Daniel Boyd Fink, age 73, passed away on February 2, 2018 in Aldie, Virginia after a short illness.

Daniel was born October 28, 1944 in Washington, D.C., the youngest son of the late John Frederick Fink, Sr. and Helen N. Fink (Wilkins). He graduated from Washington and Lee High School in 1962. Daniel and Lesley married on January 25, 1970, sharing more than 48 years of loving marriage and memories. He served in the National Guard in Washington, DC, leaving service in 1970. Daniel had worked in the printing industry since the age of 16. In 2016, he retired as VP of Production after 41 years with Payne Publishers in Manassas, VA.

Daniel loved spending time at home in Manassas with his family and dogs, as well as at his vacation home in Millsboro, DE. He enjoyed fishing with his sons and fixing anything he could get his hands on. He was a collector and aficionado of clocks winding them all every week. His family and friends will remember him as a devoted husband, dedicated father and grandfather.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Lesley Barbara (Winter) Fink, of Manassas, VA; Children, Stephanie Lynn Dakon and husband Dean of Bealeton, VA; Robert Matthew Fink, of Manassas, VA; Michael Andrew Fink and wife Victoria of Fairfax, VA; Sibling, Jennings E. (Bo) Fink of Strasburg, VA; Grandchildren, Dean Andrew Dakon, Jr.; Amanda Dawn Dakon; Alyssa Grace Franks; KayLeigh Anne Franks and Colbey Patrick Dakon; great-granddaughter, Olivia Dawn Dakon; and a large extended family.

Daniel was preceded in death by his brother, John Frederick Fink, Jr of Centreville, VA.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 5:00-6:00 PM at Baker-Post Funeral Home, Manassas, VA. A celebration of life service will follow at 6:00 PM.
