Obituary for Harry Morgan Donovan

Harry Morgan Donovan
Harry Morgan Donovan, 57, of Manassas, passed away February 1st, 2018 at his home after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer.

Born March 15, 1960 in Washington, DC, he was the son of Henry H. Donovan and the late Alice P. McGregor Schmidt. On November 16, 1996, he married the former Cynthia Lindsey, who survives.
Harry was a dedicated and loving husband, father, brother and son, with family being at the top of his list. He was so proud of his children and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them, which included Friday night movie nights at home.

He was the owner and operator of Rugger Electric for over 25 years; and was a member of Cedar Run Community Church in Herndon. Harry loved riding his motorcycle, camping, playing his guitar, and playing Rugby with the Suburbs Rugby Club where he participated for over 20 years.

Summer was not complete without a trip to the Outerbanks, and a favorite pastime was hanging out with his friends, some of whom he had known since elementary school. He loved John's salad; Allison's cranberry turkey sandwiches, apple pie and vanilla ice cream; Banzai Burgers; Cal's dedication and calm; and Ryan and Cal's ability to make him laugh. There are so many special friends we can't mention them all by name, but know that once he was your friend, it lasted a lifetime.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Schmidt. Survivors include his wife and three children; Cindy, Lindsey, Hunter, and Kylee; his twin sister, Allison Donovan; his father, Harry Donovan and his wife Betty; one aunt, Bonnie Benitez; as well as many other close family members.

A celebration of Harry’s life will be held at Cedar Run Community Church, 13560 McLearen Rd, Herndon, on February 24th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. If you would like to help with this reception, please contact Carolyn Covert at the church at 703-796-3535.
