Condolence: "Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal."

Having Dr. Jo-An Rodenhauser as my office mate and friend, I was introduced to Betty in the past year by photos and recounts of their long-standing, fun, and kindred friendship that began in their childhood.

I understand that one of Betty's favorite places was down at Jo-An's beach house in the Outer Banks (Kitty Hawk, NC). Having recently visited the beach house, I was amazed and joyed by the many displays of Betty's artistic flare and humor.

Betty left a great legacy for those who knew her well to recount in the years ahead.

May God Bless the Slater family and extended family members.

Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth thee.

Dr. Margaret L. Alston (Morgan State University)

Condolence: I was privileged to have Betty in my classroom from time to time as she assisted students with special needs who were enrolled in my classes. She was just delightful to work with, and has touched many, many lives through education. My heart goes out to the family. I said a rosary for you today, and it will not be the last time you are in my prayers.

Condolence From: from Guy and Karen (Slater) Haynie
Condolence: We are so sorry for our families' loss. Wish we could be there with everyone. Aunt Betty will be greatly missed by all of us. Our heart and prayers are with you. My favorite Aunt Betty memory is the Santa Claus earrings she gave me almost twenty five years ago. I still wear them every year around Christmas time. Guy's favorite Aunt Betty memory is when he first met her ten years ago at my mom's funeral. She told him he reminded her of Harrison Ford. Whenever anyone tells him he looks like somebody else, he lets them know that Aunt Betty says he looks like Harrison Ford.
