Obituary for Amy Dorothea Frieslander Vogt

Amy Dorothea Frieslander Vogt
Amy Dorothea Frieslander Vogt, 32, of Nokesville, passed on June 1st after battling cancer. She is survived by her husband, David; her daughter, Imogen; her mother, Jana; her father, Duff; three siblings, Patrick, Peter, and Sarah; her dog, Sebastian, and many beloved family and friends. She is predeceased by her cat, William.

Amy was born to Jana and Duff Frieslander on August 23rd, 1984 in Silver Spring, Maryland. In school she was known for her devotion to academics and her love of music, especially singing. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2007, where she met her husband, David.

Amy’s career in human resources allowed her to touch many lives around the world. Everyone who worked with her praised her efficiency and attention to detail, and she couldn’t help but form deep connections with many of her colleagues.

Amy defined her life through her love of animals and children. She was always willing to “take in a stray” whether they went on four legs or two. As a nanny and then a mother she loved and cared for children with devotion to their development and rare patience. She loved to cook and bake, and would often bake cakes for loved ones in her life. Amy loved her flower garden and all the love and work her family gave so that she could enjoy them.

Amy will be remembered for her strong will, devotion to family, and vivacious personality.
