Rolando Enrique Valdez, 64, of Burke, Virginia, beloved husband and best friend of Ada (Adi) Valdez, passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved on May 8, 2017. He was predeceased by his beloved sister Doris (Lali) Valdez de Mayta and his dearly loved parents Edilberto Valdez Yupanqui and Esther Castillo Flores de Valdez.

Rolando was born in Morococha, Junin, Peru and lived in Huancayo, Peru most of his life. He attended the University of the Center of Peru (UNCP) and received his Bachelors of Science. He later went on to earn his Professional Certification and became a Certified Mines Engineer. Rolando worked as the Chief of the Security Mines Engineer for Volcan Mine Company in Peru. He enjoyed running his department for twenty-four years, and he had many longtime co-workers and teammates, of which many became his close friends.

Rolando emigrated to the United States of American in 2003, where he lived and worked in his dear new home in Burke, Virginia. Upon his arrival in the United States, Rolando began a career working for Target whom he remained with for ten years. At Target, Rolando was able to meet many new people and forge many meaningful relationships with his coworkers.

Rolando is survived by his wife Ada and his dearly beloved children Arturo (R2) and Maria Cristina (Kiki). Rolando is also survived by his beloved sisters, Carmen Kefover and Gloria Valdez as well as his beloved brother Jorge Valdez. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends that will miss him and cherish the fond memories of him being the sweetest, cleverest, and most wonderful Dad, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the family members, friends, and members of the Kaiser Permanente Team and the members of the Virginia Hospital Center for their love, support, and dedication to Rolando. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.
A memorial service will be held honoring Rolando on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 12:00 pm at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA 20110. Following the service, there will be a small reception in the funeral home community room. Please bring your favorite story of Rolando that you would like to share with his family and friends.

Ada (Adi) Valdez, falleció pacíficamente rodeado con los que se rió, vivió
y amó, el 08 de Mayo del 2017. Él ahora se reunirá con su querida hermana Doris
(Lali) Valdez de Mayta y sus amados padres Edilberto Valdez Yupanqui y Esther
Castillo Flores de Valdez.

Rolando nació en Morococha, Junín, Perú y vivió en Huancayo, Perú parte de su
vida. Él asistió a la Universidad del centro del Perú (UNCP) y recibió sus
Licenciatura en Ciencias. Más tarde pasó a obtener su certificación profesional y se
convirtió en un Ingeniero de Minas titulado. Rolando trabajó como el Jefe de
Seguridad de Minas para la compañía minera Volcan en Perú. Disfrutó liderando su departamento durante veinticuatro años, y tenía muchos compañeros de toda la
vida y compañeros de equipo, de los cuales muchos se convirtieron en sus amigos.

Rolando emigró a los Estados Unidos de América en el 2003, donde vivió y trabajó
en su estimado Burke, Virginia. A su llegada a los Estados Unidos, Rolando trabajó para la compañía Target donde permaneció durante diez años. En Target, Rolando conoció a mucha gente nueva y estableció muchas relaciones significativas con sus compañeros de trabajo.

Rolando será siempre amado y recordado por su amada esposa Ada y sus amados
hijos Arturo (R2) y Maria Cristina (Kiki). Rolando también deja a sus hermanas
queridas, Carmen Kefover y Gloria Valdez como su querido hermano Jorge Valdez. Así mismo, Rolando también deja numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas, tíos, tías,
parientes y muchos amigos que lo extrañarán y recordarán como quien fuera el más
dulce, más inteligente y más maravilloso Papá, hermano, tío, primo y amigo.

La familia desea expresar su agradecimiento a los miembros de la familia, amigos
y miembros del equipo de Kaiser Permanente así como a los miembros del Virginia Hospital Center por su amor, apoyo y dedicación a Rolando. Damos gracias a Dios por el regalo de su vida y la bendición del tiempo que pasamos con él.

Un servicio conmemorativo se celebrará para honrar a Rolando el Jueves, 11 de
Mayo del 2017, a la 12:00 PM en La Funeraria y Centro de Cremación Baker-Post,
en 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA 20110. Después del servicio, habrá una
pequeña recepción en la sala de comunidad funeraria. Favor de traer su historia
