Willard Wakefield  Bennett
Willard Wakefield Bennett (82) born May 7, 1934, in Massachusetts passed away peacefully in his home in Bristow, Virginia on February 16, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents Edgar Bennett and Florence White, his wife Thelma Carlton Bennett and his sister Shirley Schafer and brothers George and Edgar Bennett.

He is survived by his son Willard “Ben” Bennett, II and his wife Virginia “Ginger” Bennett, four grandchildren Aereal Firlan, Crystal Long, Cody Phipps, Lurah Wiebe and his sister Thelma Rhoades.

Will, Willard, or Mr. B, as he was known, was a retired Federal Employee and Veteran of the Army. He held a Master’s Degree as well as CPA degree, and co-wrote an accounting book for the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He was a dedicated advocate for the senior community in Prince William County, serving on several committees and boards with the Friends of the Senior Center, and the Commission on Aging for the Brentsville District.

He loved his dog, music, and supporting the local arts.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, March 2, 2017, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, Virginia. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ralph Benson officiating.

Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
