Arlene “Sally” O’Connell, 85, of Manassas, VA, passed away from this Earth on February 9, 2017 after a long illness.

Born May 24, 1931 in Endicott, NY, she was the daughter of Aloysius and Madeline DePew O’Brien. On October 27, 1951 in Weedsport, NY, she married Richard Thomas O’Connell, who survives.

Sally was a member of The Secular Franciscan Order for over 32 years, and a faithful member and servant of All Saints Catholic Church in Manassas.

Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Deacon Richard O’Connell of Manassas; five children, Michelle O’Connell; Richard O’Connell; Mark O’Connell; Jim O’Connell; Karen Figliozzi and her husband John; 6 grandchildren, Benjamin and Matthew Williams; James Cooper; Maureen Rodriquez; Katie Feeney; Christie Figliozzi; and four great-grandchildren, Amora Williams, Colten Cooper, and Regen and Adelynn Rodriquez.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 15th, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, February 16th at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas.

Interment will follow at 12:00 p.m. in Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908; or to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
