John George  Findlay
John George Findlay, 61, passed away Sunday, February 05, 2017 in Manassas, Virginia.

John was born in Peterhead, Scotland to John Findlay (deceased) and Elizabeth (McKay) Findlay. John served in the British Royal Air Force (RAF). After leaving the RAF, he was employed by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and was posted to Washington, D.C., where he met his future wife Cheryl. After leaving the Foreign Office, he served as the locally employed North American Systems Manager at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. Most recently, he was employed by the City of Manassas. John was an avid soccer enthusiast and a life-long Chelsea F.C. and Glasgow Rangers F.C. supporter. He passed his love of the beautiful game to his children and coached their recreational and travel soccer teams for many years. He also directed the Virginia Soccer Association’s (VSA) Bull Run Challenge Memorial Day Soccer Tournament for several years.

Immediate survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Cheryl; his son, Cameron Findlay; his daughter, Catherine Findlay; his mother, Elizabeth Findlay; and his sister, Elizabeth Belka.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 13, from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home in Manassas, Virginia with a memorial service following at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Todd Tennant will be the Officiate.
Interment will follow at a future date in Scotland.
