Thelma Cotner  Hower
Thelma Cotner Hower was born in Washingtonville, Pennsylvania. She was the eighth child of Virgie Mae Cooper and John F. Cotner. Thelma was raised in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania where she graduated with honors from Bloomsburg High School, and was recognized in Senior Superlatives as being “Best Dancer”. Her happiest memories were of being at the “Barbeques” where she danced the night away, and met her future husband, the late Edwin Eugene Hower. She was employed by the PP & L in Bloomsburg until she began raising her family. They eventually settled in Manassas, Virginia where she was a homemaker and eventually worked at and retired from K-Mart. She was a beloved mother to six children, including Deckard Hower of Woodbridge, Diane (Hower) Bouldin of Hamilton, Debra (Hower) Rogan of East Meadow, NY, Lee Ann (Hower) Gray of Remington, and Lorie (Hower) Shoop and Edwin P. Hower of Bristow; beloved Nana to 12 grandchildren, including Dawn (Hower)Trawick or Woodbridge, Brian Hower of Seattle, WA, Scott Bouldin of Aldie, Alec Bouldin of Winchester, Katherine Bouldin of Leesburg, Corey Rogan of East Meadow, NY, the late Erin Gray of Remington, Danny Shoop, Jr. of Luray, Amanda (Shoop) Foxwell and Tammy (Shoop) Chernoff of Front Royal, Joseph Shoop of Bristow, and Jennifer Hower of Manassas; beloved Great Nana to 20 great grandchildren, including Marcus and Kiara; Tyler and Matthew; McKenna; Wyatt; Danny III, Nathan, Jacob, and Victoria; Keith, Alyssa, and Gabriella; Melanie, Abigail, and Jackson; and Zack, Cadence, Joshlyn, and David; and one great, great granddaughter, Adele.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1st from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM, followed by a Funeral Service from 12:30 – 1:30 PM at Baker-Post Funeral Home at 10001 Nokesville Road in Manassas, Virginia. The Burial will be at 2 PM at Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway in Manassas, Virginia.
