Obituary for Cynthia Ann Simmons (Simms)

Cynthia Ann Simmons, 87, of Woodbridge, Virginia, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center.

Born on February 5, 1929, in Manassas, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Annie Bryant Simms.

Besides her parents, Ms. Simmons was preceded in death by one sister, Estrella Simms; one brother, Douglas M Simms; and her niece, Joan Maxine Thorpe.

She is survived by her nephew, Douglas Simms of Tappahannock; and her niece, Jean O’Neill of San Angelo, Texas.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. James Johnson officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, VA.

Memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to the charity of your choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, under the direction of Michael Post.
