Gary Lynn Combs, 61, of Manassas, VA, passed peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

Gary was a loving husband, dedicated father, and the type of man who never met a stranger. He was an avid fisherman, a country boy at heart, and sadly, a Dallas Cowboys fan. Gary was loved by all and affectionately known as “Pops” or Uncle G” by many.

He was preceded in death by his father Clyde Combs; mother Charlotte “Faye” Johnson Smith; his step-father, Norman Hayes; beloved twin brother Larry Combs; and dear cousin Gary “Mack” Johnson II.

Gary is survived by his wife Brenda and daughters Jodi Lynn and Jennifer Ashley; brother Charles Hayes and wife Lisa; sister-in-law Tinamarie Combs; mother-in-law Judith Drake; father-in-law Brian Drake; brother-in-law Keith Drake and wife Dawn; sister-in-law Sharon Drake and wife Liz; and sister-in-law Amy Boitnott and husband Rich. Nieces and nephews Lawrence Combs, wife Katie, and children Molly and Emily; Charlie and wife Jessica; Kristina; Casey; Abby; Trey; Darby; Grace; Ellie; Silas; and two expectant twins. Also loved by numerous other loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Gary will also be greatly missed by his two beloved dogs Chester and Minnie.

Funeral services are to be held at Baker-Post Funeral Home. The family will receive guests on Friday, December 30, 2016 between 6-8pm and on Saturday, December 31, 2016 from 10-11am. Funeral services to be held immediately following at 11am. Pastor James Johnson will be officiating. Reception to follow at Lake Jackson Fire Department in Manassas, VA. All are invited.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gary’s name to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Reston.
