Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Betty Blankenship can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Betty Jane Blankenship

Betty Jane  Blankenship
Betty received her Christmas wish by going to be with our Lord and Savior. Also, being reunited with her loving husband, Jay. She passed away suddenly after a brief illness, on December 24, 2016, at Prince William Hospital.

Betty was born on November 15, 1940 at Charlottesville Hospital.

She married James Ward Blankenship, Sr. on June 13, 1958. They were married for 54 loving years before his passing in July of 2013.

Betty drove a school bus for the Prince William County Public Schools
for 29 years. She also, babysat for most of her family as well as lot of her friends, in the Nokesville area.
Betty also, attended Ashbury Church in Nokesville, VA.

She leaves behind a son, James Ward Blankenship, Jr. of Nokesville,
VA.; a daughter, Sherry Paris (husband Dave) of Beaufort, SC.; two
grandsons, Blake Blankenship and Brett Blankenship both of Nokesville, VA; one step granddaughter Morgan Paris of Beaufort, SC. and two loving dogs, Bella and Tank.

She also leaves behind several family members and great friends.

Family will receive friends on Monday January 2, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Baker-Post Funeral Home 10001 Nokesville, VA 20110. Service will be on Tuesday January 3, 2017 in the Chapel at 12:00pm. Dr. Wayne Ralston will be officiating.

Betty will be laid to rest at Stonewall Memory Gardens on Tuesday, January 3,
