Condolence From: Linda & Pierson Kemp
Condolence: We sent an email to Kim and Ken on January 6 wishing them a happy new year and sending them a photo of our Wheaten, Shasta, whom they gifted to us 10 years ago. Ken called a few minutes ago to tell us of her passing on Christmas day. There are no words that can adequately express our condolences. When visiting their farm for the first time in 2007 to see Wheaten puppies, we were touched immediately by Kim's kindness upon greeting us. We knew it was God who put the Hunters in our path, and we are so thankful to have known Kim. We feel her spirit through Shasta's unconditional love. To Ken and family we wish for you peace through God's blessings and happy memories of your life with Kim. She touched so many hearts, and ours are no exception. You remain in our prayers, and we will stay in touch.

Condolence: Ken & family, we are so sorry for your loss, but Kim is in a place of peace and joy now. She was a good friend, and I treasure the laughter she brought to our dinners together. She was passionate about her work which was important, but I appreciated her loyalty as a friend and her good advice. We will miss her, and will always remember her.

Condolence: My deepest condolences. I met Major Kim Hunter at Quantico. She barely knew me but stood up for me, when no one else did! I can't even begin to express how much that meant to me. She was my retiring officer in 2003. I uploaded the photo. She was the best of the best! Respectfully, Deborah Fountain-Yates

Condolence From: Col Mark Frampton,USMC( Ret)
Condolence: I met and served with Kim in 2003 at MSTP in Quantico. She immediately impressed me as a total professional, who never backed down from a challenge. Over the years , I was able to stay in touch and would periodically stop to visit Kim and Ken, if I was in the Quantico area. I greatly enjoyed these visits because she made me LAUGH. What a gift. Marines aspire to have it said about them, that they can be counted on when there is tough work ahead. I would pick Kim to be on my team in a NY minute. I can unequivocally state the I became a better Marine- and a better person- because of Major Kim Hunter. So, in the highest tradition of the US Naval service, I wish you "fair winds and following seas" , and send you off with a hearty 'Semper Fi." Thanks for your devotion to duty, your unwavering friendship and for making us ALL better Marines. Thanks for being ALWAYS FAITHFUL.

Condolence: Ken and family, Please know you have my sincere condolences for your loss. But you know, somehow I just didn't think she'd actually go. She was such a winner and so up beat and positive that I didn't think anything would get her. She was a great inspiration in my life. When I last saw her in October she told me she was proud of me. That meant so much to me. We had such a nice moment, ya know? Ya know how it was with Kim? You had these moments when she looked at you and you just talked about how things are/were. So honest and so true. Love her! She will be missed.

Condolence: Deepest condolences to Kim's family. I spent a week with her for on-boarding at Ernst & Young. She was like a breath of fresh air, so friendly and full of insight and wisdom. As an experienced manager with an impressive career, she had so many positive stories and anecdotes about how to motivate people. At the end of the week, she encouraged everyone to write an email praising our instructor. Such a people person who truly valued everyone she encountered!

Condolence: My sincere condolences to Ken and his family. I will miss Kim dearly. I worked with Kim in a variety of capacities but the one I will remember her the most is when she worked with me at PARCA. Kim is an inspiration and a leader both professionally and personally. Kim has the largest heart of anyone I knew. She had a passion for transforming organizations program management capabilities, and she had a large influence in the NDIA, CPM, and Government program management communities. I will miss her guidance and leadership. May she have all the peace and love she deserves. Gordon

Condolence From: Bob & Sharon Carlson
Condolence: Ken, Deb, Brittany & children, and Kim’s extended family & many friends – Sharon and I are saddened by Kim’s untimely passing. Major Kim Hunter was very special to us. She taught Earned Value Management with me at Defense Acquisition University; she was a passionate professor stressing ‘application’ to her students. She was the class leader, mentoring her students to grow professionally. They really enjoyed her doing 10 pushups for each student who scored 100% on an exam. She was exceptionally bright -- nearly completing her PhD -- cut short by her illness. She was also a down to earth West Virginian, who taught me how to ‘Bark a squirrel!’ She was extremely proud to be a Marine; with many deserved accolades from Marine Generals. Major Kim Hunter was a special, talented, passionate, courageous friend who now represents the USMC in heaven. God Bless You Kim, Bob “the Bat” & Sharon Carlson

Condolence: My sincere condolences to the Hunters for the loss of my dear friend and mentor Kim. She lives in my heart and will always be remembered. "May God take the soul and spirit of this dear departed one into the sweetest corner of His mind, the most tender place in His heart, that she and I may be comforted. For now she is gone, and I pray, dear God, for the strength to remember that she has not gone far." ~ Author Marianne Williamson
