Christopher Eric Todd, 42, of Waxhaw, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 12, 2016 in Charlotte, NC due to complications from kidney failure.

Chris was born on February 13, 1974 in Manassas, VA to William Todd and Carolyn Unthank Krzebetkowski. Chris never let the fact that he had Down Syndrome prevent him from living life to the fullest. He graduated from Osbourn Park Senior High School in 1994 and was an active Special Olympics participant in track and field, skiing, and basketball. However, his greatest joy and talent was speaking to people. There was not one funeral, wedding, or party at which he did not get up and speak. His words were simple but full of love, hope, and a promise to always be there for you. Chris never knew a stranger and to know him was to love him. He was truly a blessing from God.

Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents Coy and Edith Todd and Stephen Unthank as well as by his aunts Mary Kate Unthank and Veronica Markham, all of Manassas, VA.

Chris is survived by his parents William and Nanette Todd of Fort Meyers, FL and Carolyn and Ed Krzebetkowski of Waxhaw, NC; grandmother Joy Unthank of Manassas, VA; sisters and brothers Shelley and Justin Neal of Bealeton, VA, Allison and Jeff Jensen of Parker, CO, Katie and Danny Shoop of Luray, VA and Joey Krzebetkowski and Joe Chase of San Diego, CA. Chris will continue to influence his nieces and nephews Halley and Katelyn Neal, Dylan and Chase Jensen and Danny, Nathan, Jacob and Victoria Shoop. He will be cherished and remembered by his Miniature Schnauzers “Lucky and Princess” and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Baker-Post Funeral Home, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA 20110, on Saturday, November 19, 2016 with the viewing at noon and service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at Stonewall Memory Gardens located at 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, VA 20109. To honor Chris and the family, pallbearers will be William Todd, Justin Neal, Jeff Jensen, David Moore, Dustin Canterbury, Shane Canterbury, Sean Unthank, and Sean Jones. In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Kidney Foundation in Chris Todd’s name would be greatly appreciated.
