Obituary for Barbara Jean Friend
Barbara Jean Friend, 65, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at her home in Manassas Park, VA.
Barbara was born on October 12, 1951 in Pulaski, VA to the late Malcolm and Josephine Friend. She grew up in Manassas Park where she remained a lifelong resident after graduating from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1970.
She had great compassion for photography. She also loved horses and horseback riding and her dog, Gunther.
Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Jamie Friend.
She is survived by 7 siblings; Shirley Payne, Guy Friend, Kathy Marcum, Brenda Morgan, Terry Johnson, David Friend and Wendy Blankenship. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews along with two god children, Tiffany and Andy.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, Virginia. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
A Graveside and Interment service will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Draper Presbyterian Cemetery, 2755 Old Baltimore Road, Draper, VA.
