Obituary for Donald Christopher Nowlen

Donald Christopher Nowlen, 82, of Haymarket, VA, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 in Novant Health - Heathcote Health Center, Haymarket, VA.

Donald was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Stanley and Josephine Nowowiejski on April 15, 1934. He spent his school years in Pittsburgh. Don moved to Staten Island, NY in 1958, where he happily resided for 22 years. He married Mary J. Clark on May 17, 1958 in Bronx, New York.

Donald worked as a Manager for Mobil Oil Company in Manhattan, NY and Fairfax, VA for 27 years. Don honorably served in the United States Coast Guard in 1954-1958 during The Korean War. He enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and spending time with his grandchildren

Donald leaves behind his brothers, Hillery and Ted of Pittsburgh, PA.

He is survived by his wife Mary; sons Christopher and wife Doreen, Robert and wife Jennifer and grandchildren Raymond, Natalie, Kyle and Madison Nowlen.

Internment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
