Beloved Mother and Grandmother Dorothy Barbara (Maryak) Petchak went to be with the Lord on September 13, 2016, at the age of 87.

Born December 6, 1928 in Fifficktown, Pennsylvania to Rosalia (Steback) and Matthew Maryak. She married Chester William Petchak, moved to Cleveland and had two daughters Claudette (Satz) and Deborah (Reminick, Brothers).

Dorothy's life-long best friend was her sister-in-law Irene Edgar. They were inseparable until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease and moved to Virginia to stay with her daughter Claudette.
Dorothy leaves behind two loving daughters Claudette Satz and husband Devin, Deborah Reminick-Brothers husband Vaughn Brothers, grandchildren Adena Satz, Derek Satz, and Lauren Reminick; great grandchild Landyn Reminick; her twin brother Donald (Margaret) Maryak along with many nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her brothers: Conrad, Chester and Eugene Maryak.

As a devoted Catholic she taught the importance of family and will be remembered for her generosity, love and laughter. Her life is best expressed in the prayer: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

A private ceremony will be held with family. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made to the Alzheimer's Association to help find a cure for this horrific disease. www.ALZ.org
