Farewell my friend

My heart is so heavy and my eyes not dry.  Less than a year ago, I had to tell Jo that her dear friend and mentor, Peter, passed away suddenly.  Now, I hear the same news from a friend about Jo.  I am heartbroken. I met JoEllen while attending and working at AIB.  I always admired her talent and skill as a realtime reporter. She is the best of the best.  My fondest memories are when she took me on a private tour of the capitol in the late night hours shortly after 9/11.  She left me standing alone in the rotunda for a few moments and told me it was an experience few would ever get.  I also remember a long dinner at Cafe Su in Des Moines.  We talked for hours.  Our times together were brief, but I enjoyed our bond and friendship from afar. I will pray for her and for all those who love her.  May you be blessed with many happy memories and may the sorrow that fills your hearts today be lifted to celebrate the life of an AMAZING woman who has gone to God too soon.  To little Bear, your mama had no greater joy than you in her life. May your angels bless and keep you.  I wish I could be there in person to say my goodbyes.  Love you, Jo!
