Obituary for Kelsey Lee Hafen (West)

Kelsey Lee Hafen (West)
Kelsey Hafen, 28, of Manassas Park passed away on August 19.

She is survived by her loving husband, Chris, and beautiful daughter, Harper. She is also survived by her parents, Doug and Donna, her father-in-law, Keith, as well as her siblings, Brittany, Cailyn, Stephanie and Adrian. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends.

Kelsey was a life-long resident of Manassas Park. Growing up in that school system, she excelled as a student and was loved by classmates and staff alike. Upon high school graduation, she pursued further education at the University of Virginia to follow her dreams of becoming an educator herself. She was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was active in the youth program and participated in mission work.

Kelsey was a loving and caring soul, who had a profound impact on many during her life. She had a love for teaching and education, inspiring both students and colleagues alike. Her smile and spirit were infectious and she had a way of lighting up any room she walked into. She will be remembered as a beautiful woman, inside and out, by all who knew her. Kelsey made this world a better place and found the good in any situation. She will be sorely missed.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 27, at Grace United Methodist Church. The family will be receiving visitors from 1:00-3:00 with a service following at 3:00.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to begin a scholarship fund in Kelsey’s honor. Donations should be sent to The BELL Foundation, One Park Center Court, Suite A, Manassas Park VA 20111. Checks should be made payable to BELL with the memo line reading Kelsey West/Hafen.
