Obituary for Anita Callahan Fox
Anita Callahan Fox passed away peacefully in her home in Manassas, VA on Wednesday, June 29, 2016.
Anita was born on February 18, 1922 in Hartford, CT. She attended St. Joseph College in Hartford, CT and enjoyed a rewarding career teaching Home Economics in Connecticut and Massachusetts. There are many students in both states who have benefited from the positive influence she had on their lives.
In 1948 Anita married David James Fox, Jr., also of Hartford CT. After living variously in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Florida, David and Anita moved to Virginia to be nearer their two children, Susan Longo of Haymarket, VA and David Fox of Washington, D.C. Anita is also survived by her grandchildren, Kevin Longo, Scott Longo, Sarah Jarman and Beth Longo, and her great-grand children, Parker Longo, Bradley Jarman and Sophia Jarman.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Baker-Post Funeral Home in Manassas, VA. The family is holding a private ceremony to honor Anita’s life. Donations in Anita’s memory may be made to Vitas Hospice of Northern Virginia at https://www.vitas.com/community-connection/donation-form.
