Leon M. Kline
Leon Miller Kline, 85 passed away on June 11, 2016 at his home in Manassas, Virginia.

Leon is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Georgia; three children, Earl Kline and his wife Karen, Don Kline and his wife Mary Ellen, Ed Kline and his wife Lisa; his grandchildren Bryan and his wife Lindsey, Christiana, Samantha, Diana, Olivia, Nick, and Madelyn; his 2 sisters, Wilma Robertson and her husband Jesse, Sylvia Bowman and her husband Jim; and sister-in-law Vera Kline and the rest of his family and friends. Leon, son of Wilmer and Nora Kline, was born in Manassas, Virginia on August 4, 1930. He graduated from Osbourn High School in 1948 and in 1952 he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Dairy Husbandry from Virginia Tech. During 1954-56 he signed up for the Brethren Volunteer Service joining many other volunteers from the Church World Service and other organizations to help the people of northern Greece resettle after many years of war and communist oppression. This experience had a lasting effect on his life and in 1957 he married Georgia, one of the Greek volunteers he worked with closely. Leon considered Greece as his second home.

After completing his work in Greece, Leon returned to Manassas in 1956 where he spent the next 35 years managing his family’s dairy business. Leon was a devoted member of the Manassas Church of the Brethren. Over the years he served on the Board of Directors and most recently on the Board of Trustees. Leon loved spending time with his family and he cherished spending summers with Georgia at their home in Greece.
