On May 9th, 2016, Grover C. Taylor Sr. of Manassas, VA passed away with his family by his side in Warrenton, VA. Grover was born on September 17, 1943 in Cookeville, TN. After high school, he joined the United States Army and was a member of the Old Guard. It was during his time in the military that he met his beautiful wife Jean who he's been married to for over 52 years. Grover and Jean raised three children, Ronnie, Deborah, and Grover Jr. They mostly grew up in the Northern Virginia area where he would take his kids fishing in Nelson County, camping, and taught them values that they will never forget. Once Grover and Jean raised their three children, they were blessed to have six grandchildren and two great grandchildren to spoil. Grover's name then changed from Dad, to Papa. Grover loved taking his grandchildren everywhere he went and giving them as much love as he possibly could. He was extremely interested in history and would often take drives out to the Manassas Battlefield with friends and family and talk about the Civil War that took place. His friendliness and kindness to all people and love of animals is a tribute to the beauty of his heart and soul. His inspiring presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to have known him.
